Weekly updates

Update:  Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances Mrs. Graham has had to begin her maternity leave 2 weeks early.  You have two excellent substitutes scheduled so I am hoping you will enjoy the Oceanography unit that you will be working on for the remainder of the year.

The baby and I are doing fine but we will be resting until Baby Graham decides to arrive.  I want to thank everyone for a fantastic year!  I had a blast working with the team and everyone made my first 8th grade teaching experience full of memories I will never forget.  Feel free to email me for updates and I will get back to you if Baby Graham allows.  I wish everyone the best as you all end the year and continue on to the High school.  You should be proud of your accomplishments this year and I hope you enjoy the remainder of your time in Middle School!

All the best!

Mrs. Graham

Week of 4/28:

Students will be working on ending physics by looking at different types of energy.  They will be using active listening strategies and accountable talk stems to work in their groups in order to learn about different types of energy.  We will be taking some notes and participating in another activity titled "Wavestown" in order to prepare for a quiz the following week.

Lastly, 50 of our students will be going to Beavertail Wednesday in Jamestown to learn about the animals and the habitat that surrounds them in our local waters.  Students who are staying back from the trip will participate in an online virtual version of the trip and answering some comprehension questions so they can get a better understanding of the concepts discussed on the trip.

Lake Compounce final payments are coming up so be on the lookout for that date!  Studnets who paid only the downpayment will need to bring in another $15 in order to go on the trip.  Again this is a hard due date so make sure those slips get in.
